Car Buying Sites

By DChenster (3/10/2004)

Due to some personal reason, I am going to buy a truck.  Since this Truck is going to last me a least ten years, so besides regular test drive, I decide to find some information in the web on how to buy cars.  There are some sites that's good, some bad, and some of them are just copies of each other. Please do use your own judgments when view the sites, do not take everything in their face value, and some suggestion on the website might not applicable to all readers.

So this is what I find that's useful for purchasing a new car or trucks or SUV:

Carbuyingtips.com - this is very good site on suggesting how, what, and other good information on purchasing a new vehicle.  It gives many different opinion that generated through out years, and suggestion are logical and most of them are correct.  This website helps people understand what's buying a car, how should you prepare for buying a car without loosing a lot of money.  This site include a lot of important link toward many other informative site.

Fighting Chance - this website sells a package that's pretty informative, even through people could find all information by research, but it still give pretty good ideas also.  I took a chance and find it's pretty informative, and the fax attack sounds very legit.  The most important things that fighting chance gives is information are specific vehicle based; EX. you look for Ford Explorer, then the last two section gives informations that is based on Ford explorer.   Also the author published a book on how to purchase a car, and teaches reader what's going on with buying a car and how to be car shopping savvy.

Edmunds.com - This website is for searching a vehicles' price, option, MSRP, Invoice, and some other useful information.  This is very important website to find how much extra you would need to pay versus other people's price versus Dealers' prices, and it will show whole thing in one page to get easy view.  The price is all a little high sometime due some information might be dealer's info and supplied by dealers (advertising fee).

Kelly Blue Book - This is another very important website, same as Edmunds, but it gives more realistic prices, but for Trade in, Third party price, and retail price are a bit lower than Edmunds.com.

There are some other website that's pretty informative and great also, but for people who need just few site to look, these four will give fast answer and quick link. Even through I didn't use most of those information given by those site because my purchasing method, but these still are great info site.
